The Royal British Legion, St Paul’s Parish Church in collaboration with Churches Together and Grange Town Council invite you to attend to remember service personnel, service animals and civilians who have died in wars, and those still experiencing conflict. You are welcome to attend any, or all, of the following: Remembrance Day, Monday 11 November 2024 The Remembrance Day Service, including one minute’s silence will be held at 11am on Monday 11 November 2024 at the War Memorial in the Ornamental Gardens. Remembrance Sunday, 10 November 2024 At 2pm, the Civic Service of Remembrance will be held at St Paul’s Parish Church. This will be followed by the Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial in the Ornamental Gardens. Everyone is invited to make their own way from the Church to the Ornamental Gardens, where Flookburgh Band will be playing. The Act of Remembrance will then start at 3.30pm. Afterwards, all are welcome to refreshments at the Victoria Hall, Main Street, LA11 6DP. We look forward to seeing you there.

The May 2023 Town Council Election was uncontested. This means that fewer candidates stepped forward for election than there are seats on the Council. It also means that no polling will take place on 4 May this year. There will be seven Town Councillors from May 2023. Grange residents are always willing to support people in difficulty in our town and surrounding villages, and internationally. We are supporting Ukrainian people in a variety of humanitarian ways - doing what we can, when we can.
To date, there were quick collections of clothes, medicines, toiletries, children's items, sleeping bags and tents which were sent to central collection depots in the North West and taken to Ukraine. Churches Together held a vigil at the Millennium Peace Pavement in the Ornamental Gardens on 12/03/22 to share thoughts and prayers for people suffering in both Ukraine and Russia. Coming up is a fundraising concert with the band Black Sheep on Monday 28/03/22 from 6pm - 9pm in the Victoria Hall, organised by local, Polish resident, Ania, whose family in Poland are directly involved in charities working across the border with Ukraine to assist refugee families in need. This free concert is to say thank you to all the people who have already donated, and is also part of her ongoing fundraising efforts. Please see our What's On page for more details. South Lakeland has an exciting Holiday Activity Programme aimed at all school-age children and young people (age 5 – 16).
