    Remembrance in Grange 2023

Everyone is welcome to get involved with Remembrance in Grange.
The Royal British Legion, St Paul’s Parish Church in collaboration with Churches Together and Grange Town Council invite you to attend to remember service personnel, service animals and civilians who have died in wars, and those still experiencing conflict.
You are welcome to attend any, or all, of the following:

Remembrance Day, Saturday 11 November 2023
The Remembrance Day Service, including one minute’s silence will be held at 11am on Saturday 11 November 2023 at the War Memorial in the Ornamental Gardens.

    Remembrance Sunday, 12 November 2023
At 2pm, the Civic Service of Remembrance will be held at St Paul’s Parish Church. This will be followed by the Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial in the Ornamental Gardens.
Although the usual parade won’t take place because the police are unable to close the road, Flookburgh Band will still be performing.
Everyone is asked to make their own way from the Church to the Ornamental Gardens, where Flookburgh Band will be playing.
The Act of Remembrance will then start at 3.30pm.
Afterwards, all are welcome to come for refreshments at the Victoria Hall, Main Street, LA11 6DP.
We look forward to seeing you there.

Uncontested Election Means No Polling on May 4

The May 2023 Town Council Election was uncontested. This means that fewer candidates stepped forward for election than there are seats on the Council. It also means that no polling will take place on 4 May this year. There will be seven Town Councillors from May 2023. There are two vacancies for co-option if any member of the community wishes to join the Council. For more information see Westmorland and Furness Council
