Climate Conversations....how do WE change?

Join the climate change conversationHere at the Victoria Hall, Grange-over-Sands from 7 - 9pm tonight Thursday 27th February.
A new round of ‘Climate Conversations’ is being held to allow residents in South Lakeland the chance to have their say on issues around climate change and biodiversity loss.
These will be the third round of conversation events run by the council since 2018.
In that time we have:
  • Become the first council in Cumbria to declare a climate emergency
  • Adopted policies outlining how it aims to tackle climate change and passed a motion on biodiversity loss
  • Drawn up an action-plan based on the ideas put forward at the climate conversations
Now we're continuing the conversation – and once again we're inviting residents along to contribute ideas and suggestions

Specifically, Grange-over-Sands will benefit from:
  1. A new lighting scheme for Grange Promenade, to encourage an evening offer along the Prom and to the Lido site;
  2. A new children’s play area on the Promenade;
  3. Upgraded electrical and digital services to the Promenade and to the Lido site, to enable activities such as outdoor arts performances, and improving digital connectivity and facilities;
  4. Design-led resurfacing works to the Promenade, above and beyond the current plans to simply tarmac the surface following structural repairs;
  5. Public realm improvements, including new public artwork installations and wayfinding interventions to reconnect the Promenade, Lido and Town Centre.
